Live and work in Denmark

Live and work in Denmark?
As a EU citizen from France, what do I need to do to be able to live and work in Denmark? Do I need a visa? A work authorization? Thank you. :)

If you are an EU national, you may start work in Denmark whenever you want. If you are going to work and live in Denmark for more than three months, you must have a registration certificate. An EU/EEA registration certificate can be issued if: 1.You have paid employment in Denmark. 2.You are self-employed in Denmark. 3.You perform or receive services in Denmark. 4.You are a student on a vocational course eligible for SU (a state education grant) in Denmark and declare that you have sufficient funds to cover the cost of your stay. 5.You have an income or funds sufficient to be able to provide for yourself. http://ec.europa.eu/eures/main.jsp?catId=8101&acro=living&lang=en&parentId=7741&countryId=DK&living= ..

GerdP Is sort of right, although Denmark make up its own rules as it goes along (personal experience) If you know where you are going to live then you need to contact the local kommune, they (hopefully) will give you the information you need. On paper you are entitled to anything that a Dane can have, but in reality it does not work. The problem with moving to Denmark, there is a large amount of people unemployed here, obviously they are looking after their own first then next are the non Danes. If you can offer something that they are in need of then you will stand a better chance, also if you speak Danish will give you more of a chance. If you cannot do either then you are better off trying another country, There are a lot of non Danes working in factories, and labouring type work, even though they have good qualifications. This is not a country of Milk and honey, more like bread and water. You need to get a CPR number obtained from the Kommune, takes a few days, More or less a social security number but its used for every thing here from borrowing a book to seeing a doctor. If you have a job then your employer will give you a letter to get your permit to work, again only take a few days. you do not need a visa as you are an EU citizen. You cannot be deported unless France changes its membership to the EU. A little word of advice, If you have friends here then get them to help you with the paperwork, or you will be going from one office to another, for a month, because they will not tell you what you need to have . The Danish system is complicated, and far from clear, I thought Spain was bad until I came here. You do not need to have proof that you can support yourself, but its advisable to have some money in reserve, things are very expensive here. I would suggest you come here for a holiday/fact finding mission, and see for yourself. Good luck RR
