How do you get a work visa in Denmark you're American

How do you get a work visa in Denmark you're American?
I studied abroad in Copenhagen when I was in college and I was interested in moving back there to work and live. Does Denmark have a point system to get a work visa if you are well educated? How would you get citizenship? thanks

This is the state website for emigrating to Denmark. I'm not aware of a 'point' system - then again, I entered on a family reunification plan (husband is danish). Citizenship is a test, much like in the US - and you must have passed a Danish language proficiency exam, as well.

Yes, there is a new greencard scheme that is based on points, that allows you to live in Denmark for 3 years http://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-us/coming_to_dk/work/greencard-scheme/greencard-scheme.htm You cannot get citizenship until you have lived in Denmark for at least 7 years and have passed the language exam

Yes, Denmark has a green card points system similar to Canada's. You need 100 points and many things are taken under consideration, such as: if your profession is on the positive list, your age, education, experience and languages. You can read more here: http://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-us/coming_to_dk/work/greencard-scheme/greencard-scheme.htm And on this section you can read many people's messages who are also applying for the green card scheme and also their questions: http://www.foreignersindenmark.dk/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=7 The green card is not citizenship though. It is only a permit to work for 3 years, but it can be renewed. Regards, Paula
